Our privacy commitments

Twire (Pvt) Ltd promises:

• to maintain a privacy culture focused on transparency and accountability throughout our organisation and beyond;
• to implement technical and organisational safeguards that protect the security and confidentiality of the personal data we process;
• not to disclose your personal data to external parties unless you have given your consent, we have informed you in advance, or the law requires it.

Who we are and what we do

Twire (Pvt) Ltd (“Twire”, “we”, “us”) is a Swedish-owned software services company based in Colombo, Sri Lanka, that works business to business (B2B). In the course of client work we may sometimes have access to individuals’ personal data through our clients. In those cases we act as a processor on behalf of the client, who is the controller.

How we use personal data in client work

We only process the personal data needed to carry out our business operations. When we act as a processor, the personal data we have access to relates to the processing our client carries out, and our use of it is governed by our contract (including any data processing agreement) with that client. The processing continues for as long as the client engages Twire and its services.

Personal data may be shared with other third parties only as set out in the contract between the client and Twire, and always in line with applicable data protection rules and regulations.

All employees with access to personal data are bound by confidentiality obligations, and access is limited to the employees who need it. We do not collect or store personal data from client systems unless this is required, for example for backups, or is otherwise legally required. Data is kept only for as long as there is a legitimate and lawful basis for doing so.

When you contact us or request a quote

When you send us a message through the contact form, by email or by phone, we process the details you give us, such as your name, email address, phone number and message, so that we can reply, present a quote and, if you wish, sign and perform a contract with you.

• Legal basis: your consent, and steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.
• Recipients: our employees, contractors and service providers who help us operate, such as our email, website hosting and form-processing providers, and authorities or other public bodies where the law requires it.
• Retention: only for as long as there is a legitimate and lawful basis for keeping it.

Providing your data is entirely voluntary, but we need it to respond to you; without it we cannot send a quote or enter into a contract. By submitting personal data to us you agree that Twire (Pvt) Ltd, Colombo, Sri Lanka, may process it so that we can contact you, present a quote and, hopefully, agree a contract for our services.

Job applicants

Personal data we receive from job applicants, for example through our careers page, is used only to consider the application and for related recruitment purposes. It will not be used for any other purpose, or disclosed or transferred, without your consent unless the law permits or requires it.

If an application is unsuccessful, we delete the personal data unless there is a lawful and legitimate basis for keeping it, for example when you have agreed that we may keep your CV for future vacancies.

Visiting this website

This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers, and it does not embed third-party content. Our hosting provider may record standard technical information, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in server logs that are used only to keep the site secure and working. Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal data, particularly as a resident of the EU/EEA under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). These include the right to:
